There are 3 different types of discount electronic transportation smart cards which can be personalized and obtained by a:
1. Student
2. Teacher
3. Elderly between 61-64
What are the procedures students need to follow in order to apply for the discount Ankarakart?
They need to be a:
• Student studying in the formal or open education institution,
• Student studying in the formal educational institution mentioned in paragraph C, Article 2 of Law No 5580
• Student studying in accordance with the Higher Education Act of 2547 and
• Student whose student rights are continuing.
Requested documents:
If the person's current student information comes up in the system :
1- Birth certificate
2- One passport size photograph
If the person's student information does not comes up in the system;
For University Students
1- Birth certificate
2- One passport size photograph
3- Student verification letter issued from their University within the past one month
For High School Students
1- Birth certificate
2- One passport size photograph
3- Student verification letter issued from their High School within the past one month
What are the procedures teachers need to follow in order to apply for the discount Ankarakart?
They need to be a:
• A teacher who works under the Education Services classification
Requested documents:
1- Birth certificate
2- One passport size photograph
3- An official document showing that they are in the Education Services classification (Either a teacher ID or certified payroll statement)
What are the procedures 61 - 64 years old elderly need to follow in order to apply for the discount Ankarakart?
They need to be:
• 61 years of age as of the time they apply (down to the year, month and day)
• A resident of Ankara (address will be verified by the MERNIS SYSTEM)
• Cards can be used only at certain times of the day (10:00 to 16:00 & 19:00 to 24:00)

1- Birth certificate
2- One passport size photograph
